Having had a flick through What's Left myself, I had to guffaw a bit at this part:
But for criticism to have intellectual integrity, the critic must present an honest summary of the ideas he is attacking.
Which is a bit like Roy Keane saying that a footballer should always be immaculate in his tackling.
